This month I'm sharing a Project Life spread using several sets of Paislee Press journaling cards, and some Midnight Core Kit Edition mixed in (they go SO well together)! I 'embraced my inner minimalist' this week and stuck with a very basic spread.

What Happened This Week? There weren't too many exciting stories from this week, so I decided to focus on a couple of pictures from early in the week and then an impromptu photo shoot that Jeffrey and I took on Thursday afternoon.

Favorite Parts of This Week's Spread: I'm loving the minimalist look. I think I've been veering this way for a while; and its starting to feel right for me. A couple little embellishments here and there (like the polka dot chipboard star, or the Studio Calico polaroid die cut on the woodgrain card) really help to bring everything together.

Social Media Butterflies Blog Hop: March

Here is the layout I created for this month's hop:

A couple of notes about the layout: 

• The photo is from outside the window of our airplane when we were coming home from Los Angeles. 
• The background is an Allison Kreft/Webster's Pages white chevron overlay on white cardstock
• The title was stamped (very carefully) with staze-on and then filled in a bit with a Sakura Microperm pen
• The wood veneers were painted with a the same Sakura Microperm pen

This month I made a very simple layout with a photo of Jeff and I from our recent trip to California. I layered some vellum and patterned paper under my photo and used thickers and a pen to create my title.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Message boards -- they all have a place in the online scrapping community; and we're going to be using them to their full potential.

Today I'm sharing a project that was inspired by the awesome MonicaB. Monica has a brand new etsy shop: Dinky Doodle Designs, and while I was checking out her new shop, I ran across some awesome washi tape samples and knew I needed to scrap about my washi addiction. 

I used my silhouette machine to cut out the rectangular background, and some pop dots to raise it off the bottom page. Under a couple of the rectangles I used some of my new Freckled Fawn washi tapes to add pops of color.  

  

A few looks at the dimensionality (is that a word) of the layout. I tied some jute around a few of the rectangles and finished it off with a bow. 

And another look at the entire layout.
