Hurricane Watch - Saturday Morning/Afternoon

It's getting closer!

We're now to the point that we have constant rain. Nothing insane yet, but definitely rainboots and umbrella weather.  They've been back and forth on whether its getting "better" or "worse"; but I think its at the point where we can't really be making any more predictions, just preparations.

The picture below is the bread aisle in one of the local grocery stores at 8pm last night. Nothing left but a few hot dog buns.  Apparently they also got a one half truck shipment of bottled water yesterday, and it was sold out in an hour.

We've made all the preparations that we're going to.  We have two cases of bottled water in our chest freezer, and about 8-10 gallons of water in the fridge.  We made sure to turn the refrigerator down to teh coldest setting so that if the power goes out, the food will stay cold for as long as possible.

And since we're stuck in the house for the foreseeable future, I thought it would be a good idea to make some food early that will last us through the weekend.  First on my list: Oreo Brownie Cupcakes! I have plans for some more food later on today, but we have plenty of rations to last us for several days.

We still have anywhere between 8-10 hours until the center of the actual storm gets here, so we'll just be waiting it out and hoping that everyone stays as safe as possible.  I'll also be tweeting and instagraming more pictures throughout the day. If anyone is interested in following, my name is rukristin on both of those.
