Baltimore Baseball Card Page Protector Mini-Album

June is Mini-Album month. This month I'm sharing mini-albums from the last five years of my life as well as bringing you some of my favorite mini-albums from around the web. Look for challenges, giveaways, and more inspiration throughout the month of June. 

Baltimore Baseball Card Page Protector Mini-Album

Construction: Cut Apart baseball card protector sheet binded with sticky fabric and brads. 

Number of Pages: 6 including front and back cover (each page has two pockets)

Subject: Fourth of July in Baltimore 2010 

Date Made: August 2010

Notable Parts: The entire album is made of a single sheet of plastic baseball card holders. I cut the last column off and stacked three sets on top of one another to create the book. I added patterned paper and embellishments throughout the book, which has a linear timeline. I added a tag in between two of the pages for additional photos and journaling. 

Materials Used: Baseball Card holder sheet, Maya Road clear tag, lots of older patterned papers, tiny pictures printed at home.

DIY Gift Wrap

Use your craft stash to create the perfect wrapping paper for any occasion! I'm a huge fan of only buying plain/neutral rolls of gift wrap (or art paper like pictured here) for wrapping presents. I have everything I need to decorate my packages right in my craft stash. This is a great way to use up that extra washi tape, or those embellishments you have lying around. 

I started out by wrapping my gift in white textured art paper (the kind that comes on a sheet at the art store) I like the feel of the textured paper and it gives the finished package a little bit more interested than if I would have just used smooth paper. 

My first step was to grab my new Studio Calico neon mists and layer a couple of colors on top of one another for a cool splattered paint look. 

The key to layering mists for splatter is to start with the color you want to see the most of. Open the bottle of mist and carefully hold the nozzle over the gift wrap and tap the top with your fingers a couple of times; drops should fall down. Experiment to create different sizes and splatter patterns. Once you're happy with that color, move onto the next mist and repeat the same steps as above, using about half the mist as you did the first time; repeat with more colors as necessary. 

I added black and white polka dot washi both horizontally and vertically to mimic the traditional look of a present wrapped up with a bow. Instead of a bow, I added a chipboard star. I finished off the box with bold glitter thickers to really make my message stand out.

Tutorial: DIY Personalized iPhone Contact Photos

So excited! The A Beautiful Mess iPhone app came out last night. I'm a huge Elsie and Emma fan, so when I heard they were coming out with a photo app I knew I had to have it!

This app came out last night when I was laying in bed -- too tired to be doing anything else, but not tired enough to actually fall asleep. Mother's Day is just around the corner, and I still have no idea what I'm getting my mom or Jeff's mom, or any other mother-related person. Duke University Sex Powerpoint Presentation  NSFW

Not at all safe for work or kiddos. But this graduate put together a whole pp presentation of the men she slept with over the course of her schooling. It includes pictures, rankings, descriptions...lots of Duke athletes--even the famed (infamed?) laxers. Crazy stuff.

Design Sponge - DIY Project Recycled Scrap Paper Notebooks
Nifty green project, added to my possible holiday projects list.  I love notebooks, and I love reusing that would otherwise go to waste.
If you have some extra time, the whole Design Sponge site is pretty awesome. I've spent a lot of the day over there just clicking away at some of the stuff they have and the links they've posted. I think its going to easily become one of my favorite sites to visit. Psst, here is another link from Design Sponge's guest blog, if you're like me and you love color pallets and home decor, you'll go crazy! My favorite is the yellow kitchen down in Day One.
